Ok, if this guy thought he was going to get money out of an adding machine, chances are he wouldn't have been able to open a real cash register anyway. I mean, he was holding up a donut shop and swiped something that doesn't even have a place for money, how bright can he be?
On the other hand, what's a donut shop doing with an adding machine? Didn't someone invent the calculator a while back? Who keeps adding machines around that look like cash registers? Or maybe that's part of the donut shop's ploy if they are ever robbed.
You be the judge and enjoy this brain-dead time waster from the Idiot Criminal Files.
A man who tried to steal cash from the Dunkin' Donuts outlet on the Post Road on Monday night fled with an adding machine that he apparently mistook for a cash register.
Police said the unidentified man walked into the doughnut shop about 10:28 p.m. and handed a clerk a note stating that he had a gun and a bomb. The man's note said he would use both if he didn't get cash, police said.
The man then grabbed an adding machine, which had no cash drawers, from the counter and ran from the shop.
