By now we've all seen the TV commercials for "Cash 4 Gold" but just how good of a deal is this shoddy operation? Here's an investigative report exposing this scam for what it is - a complete ripoff. And yes, I'll use the words scam and ripoff freely here - Any company that cons people into selling their valuables for 15% of their Pawn Shop Value (PSV) is most definitely a scam. The Cash 4 Gold ripoff is even more appalling considering pawn shops won't offer anything near market value either.
In the link above, the reporters sent a slew of gold jewelry to Cash 4 Gold and received $112 for their efforts. This is after a pawn shop offered them $766 for the same gold jewelry so it was likely worth even more.
The CEO of Trash 4 Gold was quoted as saying he doesn't promise the best price for your gold (or even a reasonable price). Instead, they cater to those who don't want the hassle of not being ripped off.
So, spread the word about this blatant scam and advise anyone considering selling their gold to these criminals to go elsewhere. Your pocket book will be a lot happier and you'll feel better for not supporting these unscrupulous individuals.
