Stinky Hobo Book Review - Animal Farm

December 31st, 2006 by Phil Stewart

What a good book. It was a short story, which is the only type I can read. I start mixing stuff together when the books get too long. Like, I already forgot about that part in 1984 where the dog gets super powers and saves a three-toed sloth. I remembered the part about the hamburgers though. That was a good one.

So in this book the animals can talk, but they can’t remember things very well and have a strange obsession with windmills, beer, and bleating sheep. Oh, and comrades, comrade.

I’m not sure what happened in the book or how it ended because it got boring, so I had to make a lot of stuff up as I read along. But most of it was good. Some parts made me sad, and one part made me think up some new inventions for my Nacho Cheese and Salsa Factory. It’s funny how the story would tell me secret things and include my factory. Please skip over those parts as they are not for you.

I think I will go walk my dead dog now because he hasn’t had much exercise lately. He’s starting to get a little chunky, and that can’t be healthy for him. Plus we still haven’t found a skateboard and rope for him yet.

What a good day!

Stinky Hobo - Remembering

December 30th, 2006 by Phil Stewart

I have a hard time remembering things sometimes. Like that one time. That’s why I made up my invisible friends who remember stuff for me. But I keep forgetting to remember them, which is a problem because some of them I never remembered to remember. Then there are the ones that I remembered to forget and that is a whole ‘nother problem. Even if you remember to remember them, they are already forgot! Like yesterday.

So I’m doing a whole lot of confusing stuff today and I’m not sure why, but it’s good. Like after I forgot about remembering things, my dog stole a carton of used oranges and we did Foomie Racing™ around the bus stop. It was loads of fun and the dog was going to get some chipmunks involved. Maybe a squirrel, but no evil ones. And then the cops showed up. And we didn’t even get to the dancing!

The cops have a good habit of showing up at the wrong time lately. Especially when I’m having a good day. And that one time, that was a good day too. I need to go Foomie Racing™ more often. Maybe with my magic underwear. No Jikkoms though, they were banned. What a good day!

Stinky Hobo - Learning Experiences

December 29th, 2006 by Phil Stewart

Man, everyone’s talking about these “learning experiences.” Almost like you have to do something to learn stuff. I remember that I use to learn stuff just by sitting there and trying real hard. It’s really easy and you can do it right now. Or tomorrow. But not yesterday, that’s too late!

So after my learning experience where I didn’t experience anything, I started spot checking things at the convenience store. It’s another fun and easy thing to do that keeps me busy. I gotta keep busy so I can get my Nacho Cheese and Salsa Factory™. Nobody got one before by not being busy!
When I spot check stuff, I get a lot of attention. Usually the good kind, except when my dead dog filled in. That was a good one! But he’s still tired from playing leap frog yesterday, so I let him sleep for a while.

Once I got to the store, there wasn’t much to spot check. I stood in a few check-out lines, then sold my spot to the people behind me a couple times. It was cool because I got a small package of dinner mints, some barely used chewing gum (cinnamon!), and some coupons for unmentionables. Then I fixed some of the magazines and candy bars that were crooked, and made sure there were no hostilities. It was fun. On the way out I mixed up some Cheetos with the Fritos because that will mess with Cracky’s head later. What a good day!

Stinky Hobo - Generic Food Tip

December 28th, 2006 by Phil Stewart

You can have an entire meal in sauce packets. They are great, and they are free. And they are little packets! I started collecting sauce packets when I was a kid. I would get the hot sauce from fast food restaurants then mix it with the gooey snot type stuff and brown pickles from the convenience store.

My mom has several awards and trophies for collecting sauce packets. Plus, one time a long time ago in this one place, she kept a herd of cattle and sixteen wounded soldiers alive for five days on sauce packets alone. And two of them got super powers! Sauce packets are good stuff.

Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available

December 27th, 2006 by Phil Stewart

<meta content="OpenOffice.org 1.9.104 (Linux)" name="GENERATOR" /><meta content="20061227;22064700" name="CREATED" /><meta content="20061227;22563400" name="CHANGED" /><br /> <style> <!-- @page { size: 8.5in 11in; margin: 0.79in } P { margin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">If you are interested in short and rare domain names, I just ran across something you may like to see. From time to time, I check the availability of short domain names. I have even created an <a title="Available Domains Lists" href="http://www.philstewart.org/available-domains-lists/">Available Domains Lists</a> page to track the availability of several types of domains. It has been my experience that these short domains are registered over time and eventually sell out. When a specific type of domain sells out (three letter .coms, for example), the demand increases, driving prices up on a fixed supply.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">A few weeks ago, three-number .cc domains sold out. That is, all three number domains ending in “.cc” were no longer available to register. If you wanted one, you would have had to buy it from someone who already owned one. You couldn't register a new one yourself because all one thousand of them were taken. I just noticed, however, that one three-number .cc domain is now available for registration. That domain is: 902.cc, and it is currently the only three-number .cc domain available for registration. If you want a three-number .cc domain, this is the only one that can currently be registered. 000.cc through 901.cc and 903.cc through 999.cc are taken, they aren't available.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Now this may or may not mean anything, but if marketing economics and past performance are any hint, this is significant for several reasons.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">As I previously mentioned, all three-number .cc domains had previously sold out only a few weeks ago. This means 902.cc was registered at one time and it has just now become available to register again. The previous owner may have canceled the domain or it may have expired and wasn't renewed. In any case, there has been one consistent factor I've noticed when short domains sell out – they tend to stay sold out. Sure, domains will expire and domain owners will forget to renew them, but once a specific type of domain sells out, the attention received from the sellout (and attention to the domain type's limited availability) tends to act as support to keep the particular type of domain sold out. In other words, 902.cc will not be available to register for long.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Also, when a specific type of domain sells out, it tends to drive prices up for that type of domain. This may take a while as domain resellers and potential end users adjust to the lesser availability of the domains. But eventually the prices do go up because of the simple laws of supply and demand.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Finally, this domain is one in a thousand – literally. There are one thousand possible three-number combinations. For the “.cc” domain extension, nine hundred and ninety nine of these combinations are currently registered. That leaves only one that is currently unregistered.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">So, if you like short, rare domains, or are looking for a reasonably cheap investment and don't want to go the traditional route, take a look at these short domain names. I can all but guarantee that 902.cc will be registered soon, and the three-number .cc domains will be sold out again. Sure, more may become available (And I will post them here if and when I find them), but for the most part, this type of domain has sold out and will remain sold out. A limited supply with a constant (or more-likely, increasing) demand can only mean one thing... increasing prices – which makes for a sound investment.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Of course, I could be wrong, but that's why I posted what I know, and will leave it up to you to decide.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in">Good Domaining.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in"><strong>Update:</strong> <em>December 29th, 2006</em><br /> 902.cc has now been registered. This means the three-number .cc domains are sold out again... all one thousand are registered. 902.cc was available for around 36 hours so I am hoping someone reading this site was able to snag it. Over the next several weeks there should be others that pop up and become available. If and when this happens, I will post them here.</p> </div> <p align="right"> <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/&title=Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available"><img src="/images/linkicons/stumbleit.gif" border='0' alt='Stumble This Post'></a> <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=3&url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/" target="_blank" title="Add Story to DiggIt!"><img alt='DiggIt!' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/digg.png'/></a> <a href='http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/&title=Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Del.icio.us'><img alt='Del.icio.us' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/delicious.png'/></a> <a href='http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/myresults/bookmarklet?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/&=Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Yahoo web'><img alt='Yahoo' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/yahoo.png'/></a> <a href='http://reddit.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/&title=Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Reddit'><img alt='Reddit' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/reddit.gif'/></a> <a href='http://www.newsvine.com/_tools/seed&save?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/&h=Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Newsvine'><img alt='Newsvine' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/newsvine.png'/></a> <a href='http://www.technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Technorati'><img alt='Technorati' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/technorati.png'/></a> </p> <p class="info">Posted in <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/phils-blog/" title="View all posts in Phil's Blog" rel="category tag">Phil's Blog</a> <strong>|</strong> <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/comments.gif" alt="" /> <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/three-number-cc-domains-one-available-999-un-available/#comments" title="Comment on Three-Number .cc Domains - One Available, 999 Un-Available">1 Comment »</a></p> </div> <div class="item"> <h1><a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-stinky-goop/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to Stinky Hobo - Stinky Goop">Stinky Hobo - Stinky Goop</a></h1> <small><img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/timeicon.gif" alt="" /> December 27th, 2006 by <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/author.gif" alt="" /> Phil Stewart </small> <div class="entry"> <p>My dead dog found a <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.worsleyschool.net');" href="http://www.worsleyschool.net/science/files/goop/goop07.JPG">chunk of goop earlier.</a> I’m not sure what it is but it stinks so good. Each time a page on this website loads, a different random quote is displayed. This was fairly easy to add, didn't take much time, and I hope it will be a nice little humorous touch.</p> <p>There are many uses for a random quote generator, not simply to display a funny or goofy phrase. You may have a tagline, and want an easy way to change it from time to time. Or you may have a list of links, and want to show them randomly. The script running the quotes at the bottom of this site is custom, and very simple in nature. It will take regular text and/or HTML code from a regular text file. This makes it easy to maintain, and add or remove items from the list. Plus, this means you could even make a list of images, and use this script to randomly display them on your site. So it's not only a random quote generator, it can also be used as a random image generator.</p> <p>Now to the good stuff. I am making the random quote generator available for free on this site. It is written in PERL and is what is known as a CGI script. All this means is that it was made to run on the web. As long as your webhost allows CGI scripts, there should be no problem running this little program on your website.</p> <p>So, if you want a random quote (or image) generator on your website, the first thing you want to do is download the script.</p> <p><a title="Download random quote generator" href="http://www.philstewart.org/random-quote-generator.zip">Download Random Quote Generator</a></p> <p>I have included the random quote script and sample quotes in a “zip” file. When the downloaded file is unzipped, a directory called “random-quote-generator” is created. Inside this directory are two files, the PERL script (“random-quote.cgi”) and the sample quotes file (“quotes.txt”). This is all that is needed to run the random quote generator.</p> <p>To get started, open quotes.txt in a text editor and enter your quotes, taglines, or other HTML you would like displayed. An example for random quotes may look something like this:</p> <p><code> The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.<br /> One time I woke up taped to the soda machine.<br /> Here is another quote with something apparently witty or funny. </code></p> <p>Make sure to put each item on its own line.</p> <p>Once you have entered your own random quotes (you can always add more later), it's time to upload the files to your website. It doesn't really matter where you upload the files to, but they must be in the same directory, the directory must be web-accessible (meaning you can view the files on the web), and you must be able to run CGI scripts from this directory.<br /> When both files have been uploaded, the CGI script must be made executable (so it can run over the web). This can be done through most FTP programs, or by typing the following “chmod” (change mode) command at the command line prompt:</p> <p><code> chmod 755 random-quote.cgi </code></p> <p>At this point you should be able to view the script in a web browser and see one of your quotes randomly displayed. An example is at http://www.philstewart.org/random.cgi</p> <p>If you run into problems, it is possible PERL is installed in a different location on your webserver, or CGI scripts cannot be run in the directory where the script is. Solutions to these problems are beyond the scope of this post, but if you run into issues, let me know and I'll see if we can work it out.</p> <p>Now that the random quote generator is running, we need to include it in a webpage. There are several ways the random quotes can be included in your site, but it will mostly depend on how your site is setup, and the types of files you are using.<br /> One method for displaying random quotes is by loading the CGI script in a frame, but that seems kind of cumbersome. So here are two other easy ways to add the random quote generator to your site.</p> <p>Method 1: Use “Server Side Includes”. Not all webhosts have this setup, but if they do, it is an easy way to include CGI scripts (or other files) in your webpages. These are like normal webpages, but they end in “.shtml” and use special syntax to include other files. For our random quote generator, use the following code inside any “.shtml” file:</p> <p><code> <!--#exec cgi="/path_to_this_script.cgi" --> </code></p> <p>Make sure to set the path to the random quote script or it will not function correctly.</p> <p>Method 2: Use a PHP file. The random quote generator can also be included in a PHP file. I plan on writing a PHP version soon, but until then, use the following code inside any PHP pages:</p> <p><code> <?php print file_get_contents('http://www.domain.com/random-quote.cgi'); ?> </code></p> <p>Remember to change the code to point to your copy of the random quote generator or you may experience some weird results.</p> <p>If all went well, you should now have a random quote generator running on your site. I can't possibly cover all the problems one might encounter when trying to set this up, so if you ran into problems, I would be more than happy to resolve them with you. And if you have suggestions or ideas for improvements (or new scripts), please feel free to send them my way.</p> <p>Enjoy.</p> </div> <p align="right"> <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/&title=Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website"><img src="/images/linkicons/stumbleit.gif" border='0' alt='Stumble This Post'></a> <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=3&url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/" target="_blank" title="Add Story to DiggIt!"><img alt='DiggIt!' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/digg.png'/></a> <a href='http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/&title=Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Del.icio.us'><img alt='Del.icio.us' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/delicious.png'/></a> <a href='http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/myresults/bookmarklet?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/&=Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Yahoo web'><img alt='Yahoo' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/yahoo.png'/></a> <a href='http://reddit.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/&title=Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Reddit'><img alt='Reddit' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/reddit.gif'/></a> <a href='http://www.newsvine.com/_tools/seed&save?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/&h=Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Newsvine'><img alt='Newsvine' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/newsvine.png'/></a> <a href='http://www.technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Technorati'><img alt='Technorati' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/technorati.png'/></a> </p> <p class="info">Posted in <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/" title="View all posts in " rel="category tag"></a>, <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/phils-blog/" title="View all posts in Phil's Blog" rel="category tag">Phil's Blog</a>, <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/website-tips-and-tricks/" title="View all posts in Website Tips & Tricks" rel="category tag">Website Tips & Tricks</a> <strong>|</strong> <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/comments.gif" alt="" /> <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/free-perl-script-random-quote-generator-for-your-website/#respond" title="Comment on Free Perl Script - Random Quote Generator for Your Website">No Comments »</a></p> </div> <div class="item"> <h1><a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw">Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw</a></h1> <small><img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/timeicon.gif" alt="" /> December 26th, 2006 by <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/author.gif" alt="" /> Phil Stewart </small> <div class="entry"> <p>My armpits were smelling real good today. There’s going to be some good sniffing later.</p> <p>Maybe I could get a <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/static.flickr.com');" href="http://static.flickr.com/34/72606417_f4b137d6fb_m.jpg">nose straw for sniffing things.</a> I could <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.felidae.clara.net');" href="http://www.felidae.clara.net/files/pics/feather.jpg">sniff my pants pocket</a> while I walk down the street or find new places that are good for sniffing. Right now I have to take my pants off and put my nose in my pocket, and that leads to awkward situations. Plus one time I got the wrong pants and someone else was still in them. He didn’t keep good smells in his pocket either!</p> <p>I need to <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.youcantoocan.com');" href="http://www.youcantoocan.com/ac4store/images/straw%20b.jpg">add the sniffing straw</a> to my list of stuff to get. Maybe after I get the <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.strangecosmos.com');" href="http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/108598.jpg">professional racing underwear that makes you smart.</a> Cracky sells some, but I think I can get them for cheaper. Racing underwear is very cool, and I could probably rig up an attachment for the sniffing straw.<br /> What a good day!</p> </div> <p align="right"> <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/&title=Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw"><img src="/images/linkicons/stumbleit.gif" border='0' alt='Stumble This Post'></a> <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=3&url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/" target="_blank" title="Add Story to DiggIt!"><img alt='DiggIt!' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/digg.png'/></a> <a href='http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/&title=Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Del.icio.us'><img alt='Del.icio.us' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/delicious.png'/></a> <a href='http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/myresults/bookmarklet?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/&=Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Yahoo web'><img alt='Yahoo' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/yahoo.png'/></a> <a href='http://reddit.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/&title=Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Reddit'><img alt='Reddit' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/reddit.gif'/></a> <a href='http://www.newsvine.com/_tools/seed&save?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/&h=Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Newsvine'><img alt='Newsvine' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/newsvine.png'/></a> <a href='http://www.technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Technorati'><img alt='Technorati' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/technorati.png'/></a> </p> <p class="info">Posted in <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/phils-blog/" title="View all posts in Phil's Blog" rel="category tag">Phil's Blog</a>, <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/stinky-hobo-funny-stories/" title="View all posts in Stinky Hobo - Funny Stories" rel="category tag">Stinky Hobo - Funny Stories</a> <strong>|</strong> <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/comments.gif" alt="" /> <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-sniffing-straw/#respond" title="Comment on Stinky Hobo - Sniffing Straw">No Comments »</a></p> </div> <div class="item"> <h1><a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to Stinky Hobo - Spingle">Stinky Hobo - Spingle</a></h1> <small><img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/timeicon.gif" alt="" /> December 25th, 2006 by <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/author.gif" alt="" /> Phil Stewart </small> <div class="entry"> <p>I found a Spingle with my dog today. It’s wicked bad. I haven’t made up any magic powers for it yet, but my dog is working on that right now. Dead dogs can come up with good stuff when they’re sitting outside the library, tied to a bicycle rack.</p> <p>So what’s a Spingle? I’m not quite sure yet, but it’s halfway between a Gomicker and a Hickspangle. My dog is good at coming up with names for the stuff we find. Except that one thing; I still don’t know what it is.</p> <p>After finding the Spingle, I ran into Cracky down by the river. Cracky walked up to me with a twinkle in his eye (the glass one), rubbing his grubby hands together and tossing shifty looks back and forth . . . all shifty and stuff.</p> <p>He said, “Hey Hobo,” in his trademark jittery voice. “Wanna know somethin’ nasty?”</p> <p>“Sure,” I said, knowing that Cracky is always good for new information.</p> <p>With that, he let loose a long, retched beer and taco fart into one hand and smothered my face with his greasy palm. Coughing and choking, with tears in my eyes, I jumped back gasping for air, but I could already taste it in my stomach. Oh man, not a good taste! Not like tacos at all!</p> <p>“Now you know,” muttered Cracky in a raspy tone as he walked away.</p> <p>Yes, that was something nasty. But now I know. What a good friend Cracky is, always giving me new information and stuff. I bet he was brewing that one up all day for me. Sure tasted like it.</p> </div> <p align="right"> <a href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/&title=Stinky Hobo - Spingle"><img src="/images/linkicons/stumbleit.gif" border='0' alt='Stumble This Post'></a> <a href="http://digg.com/submit?phase=3&url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/" target="_blank" title="Add Story to DiggIt!"><img alt='DiggIt!' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/digg.png'/></a> <a href='http://del.icio.us/post?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/&title=Stinky Hobo - Spingle' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Del.icio.us'><img alt='Del.icio.us' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/delicious.png'/></a> <a href='http://myweb2.search.yahoo.com/myresults/bookmarklet?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/&=Stinky Hobo - Spingle' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Yahoo web'><img alt='Yahoo' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/yahoo.png'/></a> <a href='http://reddit.com/submit?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/&title=Stinky Hobo - Spingle' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Reddit'><img alt='Reddit' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/reddit.gif'/></a> <a href='http://www.newsvine.com/_tools/seed&save?u=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/&h=Stinky Hobo - Spingle' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Newsvine'><img alt='Newsvine' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/newsvine.png'/></a> <a href='http://www.technorati.com/cosmos/search.html?url=http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/' target='_blank' title='Add Story to Technorati'><img alt='Technorati' border='0' src='http://www.philstewart.org/images/linkicons/technorati.png'/></a> </p> <p class="info">Posted in <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/phils-blog/" title="View all posts in Phil's Blog" rel="category tag">Phil's Blog</a>, <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/category/stinky-hobo-funny-stories/" title="View all posts in Stinky Hobo - Funny Stories" rel="category tag">Stinky Hobo - Funny Stories</a> <strong>|</strong> <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/comments.gif" alt="" /> <a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-spingle/#respond" title="Comment on Stinky Hobo - Spingle">No Comments »</a></p> </div> <div class="item"> <h1><a href="http://www.philstewart.org/blog.php/2006/12/stinky-hobo-wicked-bad-catfish/" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to Stinky Hobo - Wicked Bad Catfish">Stinky Hobo - Wicked Bad Catfish</a></h1> <small><img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/timeicon.gif" alt="" /> December 24th, 2006 by <img src="http://www.philstewart.org/wp-content/themes/phil-theme/img/author.gif" alt="" /> Phil Stewart </small> <div class="entry"> <p>I remember this one time I made up where I went fishing with Cracky. What a good time! We caught some fish and met some squirrels.</p> <p>At the end of the day, Cracky hooked into a <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/momentoffame.com');" href="http://momentoffame.com/photopost/data/524/10big_catfish.jpg">big old Wicked Bad Catfish</a>. A big one, <a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.xenafan.com');" href="http://www.xenafan.com/rosie/rosie05.jpg">like Rosie O’Donnell big.</a> He was going crazy and Rosie was jumping out of the water and splashing around. It was a big happy, stinky mess.</p> <p>Cracky finally got the catfish close to shore when I reached in to grab him. The fish was laughing at me—a laugh that smelled like a frog sounds, in the dark, in the woods, with three mice and a pollywog dancing nearby. What a crazy catfish!</p> <p>I reached into the water to grab the fish when I dove in by accidentally letting my feet slip, but I acted cool about it later.</p> <p><a onclick="javascript:urchinTracker ('/outbound/www.smijer.com');" href="http://www.smijer.com/blog/archives/BIG%20Catfish.jpg">I found myself holding onto a giant snotty fish.</a> He was even laughing at me underwater.
